To me this was a different kind of graphic novel/comic book then what I thought graphic novels were. I've never been a big fan of graphic novels/comic book for the fact that there is generally very few words on a page the story is told in the illustrations. However, this one stole my heart and changed my thinking of graphic novels. It is very well done and I loved the illustrations. The characters were out-of-this world. I'm going to go back and read the first one just because I loved this one so well.

I have to say I was very leery to take on this book for review. But I have totally been enjoying Anita Hacklye Lambert's book Soul Stirrings: Inspirational Message with God on Your Side. The devotionals in this book are geared toward the Christian seeking to find God's will and then act upon your findings with intention. I have my book all marked up, highlighted with personal notes as well. 

 

My favorite chapter so far has been chapter 9: Consistent Intentions: Living with Purpose and Determination. Proverbs 4:26 "Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established." Aligning our intentions with God's will, seeking His guidance and committing to living as His Word commands us to. 

 

I also loved the lay out of each chapter. It is easy to read, each paragraph has a space between the previous paragraph. The author doesn't use big words that I would have to look up and find out what she meant by that. I can tell she writes from her heart.   

 

I love, love, love the fact that Lambert uses the KJV Bible to quote her scriptures. With other devotionals, I have to have my Bible on hand and look up the scriptures because I want to see what the KJV says, that is my chosen Bible version. It isn't easy to find a devotional that uses the KJV. This was the main reason for me being leery to review this book. However, I'm so glad I did accept the review spot. Lambert backs her thoughts up with much scripture which is also a big plus. It isn't just what she thinks, but what God says in His Word. This book has gone above my expectations for stirring my soul.  This is definitely a devotional that will be added to my library shelf and I just might have to check into the other two books.

Between 2022 and 2023, street-level homelessness increased 12% nationwide, if this rate continues, street-level homelessness will double in 5-6 years.Nearly 1 in 3 foster youth in California face homelessness after leaving the child welfare system.  No Address is an exploration of hope, humanity, and resilience as characters navigate challenges with no physical address. This feature film highlights the human side of homelessness and vividly portrays that “homelessness could happen to anyone.” This is a powerful film to inspire action in local communities. Topics that are covered in the movie are foster care, domestic violence, addiction, untreated mental illness, and veterans.
