I have so totally enjoyed reviewing these books.  They are inspirational and very encouraging.  Each one is written with a different person in mind.  As we are approaching some upcoming special occasions why  not give the person in your life that you are grateful for a little gift.  These books are just the thing.  Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation and end of the school year are coming fast.  I already know where some of my books are heading.  My mom will of course be the recipient of the Mother's book. I have a niece graduating for the graduation book.  I have a sister that is a teacher that will be getting the Teacher devotional and a life long friend will be the new owner of the friends gift.  My dad probably wouldn't read the book so still trying to find a person to gift the book to. As for the military book, I have a few in mind for this one.  I'm sure you won't be disappointed with buy any of these books for gifts without reading them.  You just can't go wrong with a Max Lucado book.   So keep them in mind when you're looking for that gift.

For More Information
Empowering, inspirational, encouraging are just a few words to describe this movie.  The message is beautiful loved learning about the 7 keys.  A very well done movie.  I enjoyed the movie.  Only one thing I'd change is about 1 hour and 24 min. into the movie there is a curse word.  That just grates on me to watch a Christian movie and they curse.  It just doesn't add to the dialogue.  I feel there is no need to curse to get our point across.  "Why Me?"  would have been sufficient to get the point across. Other than that one spot the movie was very powerful.

A beautiful book to read to your child to assure him/her of your love as well as God's love to them.   Night Night Daddy will also let you and your child reminisce of all the fun things you do daily together leaving them with fun thoughts of what tomorrow might have in store.  This book is just right for the preschool aged child.  It is made of sturdy cardboard and bight and bold illustrations.  It is written in rhyming verse style.  Just in time for Farther's Day and letting you child know they are special to you as their father.  I will be placing this book in our church nursery for our little ones to be able to have read to them over and over again.

Book Description

Cuddle up for a calming bedtime story with this sweet board book that combines bedtime rhyme with adorable animal art to help your children get ready for a good night’s sleep.

Night Night, Daddy features an animal family settling down for bedtime, recalling shared moments between father and child that occurred throughout the day. All of these special moments are relatable to you and your toddler or preschooler, and this bonding time is a wonderful way for your child to tell you “night night” as he drifts off to sleep.

Sample text:
A bubble battle at bath time
Makes getting clean more fun;
Soon we’re laughing oh so hard,
We don’t even know who won!
For now, I’ll sink into your arms
And let them hold me tight,
Knowing that you’ll keep me safe
And loved all through the night.

Sir Princess Petra's Mission by Diane Robinson

http://www.dianemaerobinson.com/

Sir Princess Petra's Mission is the third book in the award-winning Pen Pieyu Adventure series. Petra is a strong female lead and her story involves several interesting characters, such as her steed, Snarls. Snarls is actually not a horse but a dragon. He is the dragon Petra conquer in book #1 to win her knighthood for her ninth birthday. Petra's parent's the king and queen, do not like having a knight for a daughter. They keep changing the kingdom rule book in order to stop their daughter. At each turn, Petra has been a competent match, thus far keeping her knight status.

 Sir Princess Petra's Mission
The Pen Pieyu Adventures (book #3)
by Diane Mae Robinson
Illustrations by Michael Bermundo
Paperback: 106 pages
  • Publisher: Tate Publishing (January 12, 2016)
  • Language: English

  • ISBN-13: 978-1681870724
Sir Princess Petra has already attained her knighthood in the Kingdom of Pen Pieyu and her non-princess-like talent certificate from Talent School, neither of which pleases her father and mother, the king and queen. The king writes up more silly rules in the royal rule book to deter Sir Princess Petra from her knightly ways and useless talent, and turn her into a real princess once and for all. Will the king finally succeed with this newly written, ridiculous mission for Petra?
Diane Mae Robinson is the recipient of six international writing awards and one prestigous provincial award for her fantasy adventure children’s chapter book series, The Pen Pieyu Adventures. The author has created a world full of delightful, zany characters, while embracing the traditional values of kindness, understanding, and acceptance of others to create a story with the humorous essence of Shrek.
You're sure to be transported back into medieval times with this exciting story of knights and dragons.  Sir Princess Petra's Mission is a book that is bound to keep you and your young reader turning the pages.  The action moves quickly from page to page.  You won't want to stop in the middle.  Petra and her friends are bound to capture your heart as you read of her adventures and mishaps.  You'll be  laughing as you travel with them on their mission.  It is a very delightful read you won't want to miss.  I'm even considering using her book in my summer school reading classroom. 5 stars if you ask me.

The Daffodils Still Grow by Sherri Elizabeth Tidwell

http://abis-scrapsoflife.blogspot.com/2016/02/the-daffodils-still-grow-by-sherri.html

This book is a beautiful book with a powerful message just for the child that has lost their mother.  It is a book of encouragement that their feelings of grief are normal.  They can see that others have the same feeling about losing their mother.  It might help them to open up to grief and talk with others about it.  The water color illustrations help set the mood of the book.  It is short and too the point, but has depth and feeling as well.

About the Author

The Daffodils Still Grow was inspired by diary entries of the author/illustrator, Sherri Elizabeth Tidwell, after the death of her mother when she was 14. “My mother committed suicide when I was 14, and after nearly a year of crying and hurting, I was surprised -- almost shocked -- to see the daffodils she planted right before her death still bloom again. It was a big wake-up call to me that, even though she was gone, I could still carry on without her FOR her. Somehow, our loved ones still find a way of communicating with us when we need it the most." Sherri Elizabeth now attends Seton Hill University’s MFA program in Writing Popular Fiction. She has a BA in both communications and studio arts from Austin Peay State University. She hopes that every parent will know how irreplaceable and loved they are to their children and that every child who has lost a parent will know they are not alone. Remember, the daffodils still grow!
