Cute characters introduce healthy snacks with a rhyming quote, encouraging toddlers to make healthy choices while having fun with the rhymes and interacting with the reader.
This book is ideal for native speakers of English as well as for children growing in bilingual homes.

This is a very basic book.  Definitely geared to toddler/preschool age.  As a teacher I could see it used in an ELL class as well.  A fun book to introduce food items to youngsters.  The words are very limited on the page and the pictures are bold, but a very, very cute book. Early readers will love that they can read this book by themselves.

Living Hope

I'm not real big on documentaries, but this one was awesome.  I didn't feel like I was watching a documentary.  The actors keep you very engaged.  A very informative 1:30.  Living Hope gives Hope and inspiration to those  in despair and seeking.  When we are at our lowest point and no place to turn, only one direction to look and that is up.   A beautiful work that is being accomplished through this organization.  I have a niece going to Zambia this summer on a missions trip.  I'm passing this along to her maybe she'll be able to watch it before she goes.  



LIVING HOPE is the story of three extraordinary individuals who have devoted their lives to serving the poor in South Africa. It is a feature length documentary created by the filmmakers behind Journey to Everest, Apostles of Comedy, and Honoring a Father’s Dream: Sons of Lwala.  John Thomas, a pastor who is leading his church to serve the sick, hungry, and dying in the communities that surround them. Journey beside John through the neighborhoods where they work, meet the people their ministry has impacted, and hear from his heart why they chose to make a stand for the poor.  Joey Lankford, a businessman and father of four who moved his young family from the United States to Cape Town. Journey beside Joey as he equips men and women with job skills, and leads them out of the bondage of poverty.  Leonie Rustin, a single mom and nursing assistant, who turned from a life of crippling drug addiction to follow Christ. Journey beside Leonie as she attempts to help other in her community unshackle the chains of addiction and prostitution.

I Can by Kathryn O'Brien

With a repetitive, rhythmic introduction of Philippians 4:13 (“I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength”), I Can turns Bible memorization from a duty to a delight for children, using the author’s unique teaching strategy. This purposeful presentation of Scripture will help children memorize, understand, and absorb passages as the author presents this powerful verse one word at a time, teaching the meaning of each individual word before presenting the entire passage. I Can builds a meaningful connection between God’s Word and a child’s life experiences, laying a foundation for a love and comprehension of Scripture. Parents and children will enjoy interacting together over the passage.

I Can is a beautiful book to help youngest see that with God all things are possible.  What better way than to start them young realizing that God is who helps us in all that we do.  It is His strength that can help us do all things.  Phil. 4:13 is a perfect verse for children to learn.  It is God's strength that makes us able. A perfect book for child  ages 3-6 and beginning readers will love that fact that is is easy enough for them to read.  This is going in my classroom library.

Berenstain Bears was awesome when my girls were growing up and now I'm taking them along with me to my classroom.  School Time Blessings is a nice addition to Back-to-School books in the library.  Brother, Sister, and Honey share with readers their worries and they beginning a new school year.  Mama and  Papa Bear try to help them seek God and trust on Him. They direct them to read the Bible and Psalm 34:4.  Papa instructions them then to seek God for their strength and help with their homework.  As well as sharing with the cubs that Phil. 4:13 tells us we can do all things through Christ.  What better way to help kids learn then sharing your faith with them.  There are also activities and questions at the back of the book to talk about and do.  Beautiful Book.  It is going in my classroom library for sure.
