This is the cutest easy chapter book.  If your child loves anything thing to do with space and travel, Star Wars or Science Fiction books, they'll just eat this one up.  The cool thing is it will be easy enough for them to read and build that confidence they need.  Very easy reader for the low level readers in your life.  The action is fast paced and moves so to keep their attention.  Highly recommend it.  Beautifully written for the reluctant reader in mind.

This is a cute picture book story for younger children.  I've been teaching 10 month reading this summer used it to get my students talking and learning to talk back to books.  Ask questions, infer and predict what will happen.  Friendship and being the one to stand up and speak out are excellent themes in this book.  Helping the kids make a connection on how they would feel if something like this happened to them.  Love the book.

Julie Anne Grasso's Frankie Dupont: Lemon Festival Fiasco book is an excellent book.  I've been sharing it with the summer school reading class of 3-5 graders that I'm teaching.  We are reading it as a whole class read-aloud. The students are totally enjoying it.  They love the mystery.  Trying to solve the mystery along with Frankie has been fun for them.

Julie Anne GrassoWith a background in pediatric nursing, Julie Anne Grasso spent many years literally wrapping children in cotton wool. Every day she witnessed courage and resilience from the tiny people she cared for, which inspired her to write stories to entertain them.  A science fiction nerd (she even owns a TARDIS), cupcake enthusiast and lover of all things mystery, she lives in Melbourne with her husband Danny and their little girl Giselle. Most days she can be found sipping chai tea and dreaming up wonderful worlds that often involve consumption of cupcakes.

Billy Bobble Makes a Magic Wand by R.S. Mellette

Book Description: “E = mc2 is no longer the most powerful force in the universe. Your wand is.” Twelve-year-old Billy Bobble and his best friend Suzy Quinofski didn’t mean to change the universe. Billy, a quantum physics prodigy, just wanted to find a way to help his hoarding, schizophrenic mother – and maybe impress a coven of older girls in high school. Suzy, his intellectual equal, wanted to help her friend and cling to her last remnant of childhood, a belief in magic. Together they made Billy a real, working, magic wand, and opened a door to the Quantum World where thoughts create reality, and all things – good and bad – are possible.

If you have a child that likes science experiments, inventing things and adventure than they'll love Billy Bobble.  Right off the bat we lose the main character in the story, but never fear he does reappear or we wouldn't have a story would we.  I would highly recommend this book for 4-6 graders.  It is fun and entertaining.  It was on my list for my summer school reading class as a choice for whole class read-aloud.  Very much loved by all.
