"And when he thought thereon, he wept."-Mark 14:72

It has been thought by some that as long as Peter lived, the fountain of his tears began to flow whenever he remembered his denying his Lord. It is not unlikely that it was so, (for his sin was very great, and grace in him had afterwards a perfect work. This same experience is common to all the redeemed family according to the degree in which the Spirit of God has removed the natural heart of stone. We, like Peter, remember our boastful promise: "Though all men shall forsake Thee, yet will not I." We eat our own words with the bitter herbs of repentance. When we think of what we vowed we would be, and of what we have been, we may weep whole showers of grief. He thought on his denying his Lord. The place in which he did it, the little cause which led him into such heinous sin, the oaths and blasphemies with which he sought to confirm his falsehood, and the dreadful hardness of heart which drove him to do so again and yet again. Can we, when we are reminded of our sins, and their exceeding sinfulness, remain stolid and stubborn? Will we not make our house a Bochim, and cry unto the Lord for renewed assurances of pardoning love? May we never take a dry-eyed look at sin, lest ere long we have a tongue parched in the flames of hell. Peter also thought upon his Master's look of love. The Lord followed up the cock's warning voice with an admonitory look of sorrow, pity, and love. That glance was never out of Peter's mind so long as he lived. It was far more effectual than ten thousand sermons would have been without the Spirit. The penitent apostle would be sure to weep when he recollected the Saviour's full forgiveness, which restored him to his former place. To think that we have offended so kind and good a Lord is more than sufficient reason for being constant weepers. Lord, smite our rocky hearts, and make the waters flow.

5th Day of Christmas baking...

On the 5th Day of Christmas baking I made for my true love...

Triple-Chocolate Truffles

These are easy to make just take time to do it.  You can't just make them and be done.  You have to let each layer set up about an hour before doing the next layer and then you have to let the whole thing set up before dipping.  But they are melt in your mouth chocolate inside.  OH, so heavenly.  My daughter saw the recipe in the Chocolate cookbook put out by The Pampered Chef, which by the way I won.
Here's a peek at what I won....

don't ask me whose site because I don't remember and since I've been having computer issues the last few months that information is wiped out of my computer, however, it is one the the button links in my side bar.  She has wonderful gift giveaways. The Truffles are picture on the book; however, mine didn't look as Picture perfect as what the book shows....

I don't have permission to give you their recipe, but you can find it in the book:  Chocolate

However, I did tweek the recipe from the book so I'll tell you what I did.....

1.)  melted a 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips, dark, semi, milk I don't care...could even use mint if you want mint truffles along with 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 7 &1/2 Tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.  (I did this in microwave cooker that I won pictured above.  it was so nice to use.)  did about three - 30 second intervals.

2.)  pour into a saran wrap lined pan, dish, etc.   Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

3.)  melt a 12 oz. bag of white chips (actually for this I used the bark squares), 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla, and 7 & 1/2 Tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.

4.)  pour over the chocolate layer, cover and return to refrigeration for at least 4 hours.  I did mine over night.

5.)  remove from baking pan to cookie sheet to cut into 1 inch squares.  I found that the white layer was softer so it worked better to have this layer on top when cutting. also found they are easier to dip cold.

6.)  melt chocolate bark for dipping.  Dip each square in chocolate and place on wax paper to harden.

7.)  You may add garnishes if you wish before chocolate hardens we didn't.  Drizzle  chocolate or sprinkle nuts or sprinkles etc.  be creative.
