Celebrate fall with Pumpkin Patch Blessings by Kim Washburn and Jacqueline East. The sweet rhyming text by Kim Washburn and whimsical illustrations by Jacqueline East bring autumn alive for readers young and old as they take in the fun of the fall season and remember how much they have to be grateful for.
Celebrate fall with your young ones.  Kim Washburn has penned an adorable rhyming book just for preschoolers and the young at heart.  This chunky cardboard shaped book would be a nice addition to your fall books. The God's blessings of Fall are mentioned throughout the short 16 page book.  Finding just the right pumpkin for carving isn't the only thing you can do with your pumpkin.  However, I'm not going to spoil it you'll have to get a book to find out what else you can do with your pumpkin. The illustrations are bold, bright and whimsical.

I LOVE YOU JUST BECAUSE:

Through adorable, cuddly art and fun rhyming text, I Love You Just Because will help little ones understand their parents' love for them and that it doesn't have to be earned. With playful artwork and the same friendly bear family you already know and love from Donna Keith's first two books—I Love You All the Same and I Love You Even When—the sweet story of this book will touch you and your family and will remind you that family members love each other...just because.
Parents will gravitate toward the felt need and fun messaging of this book as it seeks to help them explain to their little ones that they are truly loved just because.

This is a cute book.  It is a hard board book just for little ones to read.  It is a message that small children need to be reminded of daily:  I Love You....because well.... there should be no because. This book is about a bear family and each bear is different in their own way...there is a panda, polar and brown bear cub.  Papa and Mama bear teach them that they love each one because they are special in their own way.  There is a scripture verse on each page to go along with the reason they are special. Very adorable.  This book will go in the church nursery for sure.

Chasing Grace

About Chasing Grace

A tragic accident threatens to destroy a pastor’s family and sets into motion a complex betrayal between two brothers, while exposing secrets no one wants to face.

Pastor Jonathan Matheson lives in a world of black and white, yet finds a way to navigate the “grey in-between” to work to his advantage, while facing one of the most tragic moments of his life. Set in small-town America and woven inside a tale of redemption, “Chasing Grace” is a story of how one family takes on the burden of guilt in order to make sense of their loss. While pointing the finger of blame at his brother, Pastor Jonathan also chooses to hide from the truth while trying to escape his own personal demons. “Chasing Grace” is loosely based upon true events and provides a powerful story about the redeeming power of forgiveness.

I found this movie to be quite an interesting movie.  Yes, it shows many negative aspects of alcoholism, but it also takes in the healing, forgiveness and closer there is in alcoholism as well.  This movie shows many things that alcoholism can do to a family.  The acting was performed well.  Though there was a death, shooting scene there wasn't any blood or gross parts just alluded to them (ex.: you saw the person with the gun and heard it go off but that is all).  If you want a movie that will help you open up to the drinking subject with your children then this would be an excellent one.  There are many talking and learning points in this movie.  It can bring out the discussions that is for sure.

Night Night, Farm by Amy Parker

http://www.thomasnelson.com/night-night-farm
Moo moo, cows!

Baa baa, sheep!

When the sun sinks low down on the farm, the animals are all tuckered out from the day’s adventures. Join these adorable farm animals in pajamas as they say night night to the farm, to their mommies and daddies, and to God.

Your little ones will sleep until the rooster crows knowing that the God who made them loves them too.

Night night, farm!

Amy Parker’s children’s books have sold more than 800,000 copies including two Christian Retailing’s Best award-winning books and the bestselling A Night Night Prayer. She lives outside Nashville with her husband and two children.

Night Night Farm is a whimsical board book.  In rhyming meter the book goes through the farm animals telling them good night.  Your toddler will love the animal and helping make the noise that each one makes.  Oh, wait they are suppose to be going to sleep not playing.  The most important message though is that God made all the animals.  The illustrations are bright and colorful as well which make for a perfect fit to setting the tone of this book.  It is a cute book your youngster is bound to love the book.

The SockKids say No to Bullying is a cute book.  The socks talk and carry out dialogue through out the book, so considered fantasy genre.  This book is geared toward those students getting ready for chapter books.  I wouldn't say it was a picture book because there is more reading on the page than picture, but each page has a small picture.  The story is wonderful and the message is a very needed on. It is a book that will keep a student's interest as to what will happen next. I was wondering myself what would happen next.  The talking socks are bound to get the attention of kids.  And I made a connection while reading when Ethan wore the mismatched socks.  Love it kids will definitely relate that is for sure.  I can't wait to see what other adventures the sockkids might come up against.  I'm totally putting it in my classroom library.
