As a typical teenager, Travis Freeman (Mark Hapka) is a local hero both on and off the high-school football field in his small Kentucky town, but in 1997, Travis contracts an infection that destroys his optic nerve and renders him blind overnight. Rated PG-13 (brief drinking of alcohol on school property)

 

This was an excellent movie.  Very good for the whole family even though there was one brief scene of drinking. It was in no way presented in a bad light and was condoned by his friend that walked up on him drinking.  If you wish to watch the scene there is a trailer here.  It is a very brief scene.  Very good movie on perseverance and overcoming obstacles.  Read below and find out how you can win a copy of this dvd.
