"Before honour is humility."-Proverbs 15:33

Humiliation of soul always brings a positive blessing with it. If we empty our hearts of self God will fill them with His love. He who desires close communion with Christ should remember the word of the Lord, "To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word." Stoop if you would climb to heaven. Do we not say of Jesus, "He descended that He might ascend"? so must you. You must grow downwards, that you may grow upwards; for the sweetest fellowship with heaven is to be had by humble souls, and by them alone. God will deny no blessing to a thoroughly humbled spirit. "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven," with all its riches and treasures. The whole exchequer of God shall be made over by deed of gift to the soul which is humble enough to be able to receive it without growing proud because of it. God blesses us all up to the full measure and extremity of what it is safe for Him to do. If you do not get a blessing, it is because it is not safe for you to have one. If our heavenly Father were to let your unhumbled spirit win a victory in His holy war, you would pilfer the crown for yourself, and meeting with a fresh enemy you would fall a victim; so that you are kept low for your own safety. When a man is sincerely humble, and never ventures to touch so much as agrain of the praise, there is scarcely any limit to what God will do for him. Humility makes us ready to be blessed by the God of all grace, and fits us to deal efficiently with our fellow men. True humility is a flower which will adorn any garden. This is a sauce with which you may season every dish of life, and you will find an improvement in every case. Whether it be prayer or praise, whether it be work or suffering, the genuine salt of humility cannot be used in excess.

Christmas coming alive

Handmade by Heidi

The Friday night Sew-in results are here, but first have to give you a sneak peak at the fun material I got on Thursday night.....

I had sew much fun Thursday evening after dropping off daughter @ work choosing this material which I worked with last night during the sew-in.  It was just right to set the holiday mood.  SEW... I stuck in the favorite Christmas music by Lorie Line, oh, no first I changed into some comfy clothes (sweats) But then again maybe I hiked up the music first so I could hear it while I was changing and gathering my stuff...  Any way Christmas music played last night.  I have three fav.  Lorie Line (she is awesome, some day I may get to go to one of her concerts.  dream, dream, dream)  another fav. is Mannheim Steamroller and North Sound's Christmas Sleigh Ride.  Sew we got it all rounded up and the candle lit and turkeys on night watch.....

yes we had Christmas and Thanksgiving rolled into one night. I love the holidays.  and I can't wait 3 weeks and 6 days and my oldest will be home for the holidays.  This is the first she's been away living in dorm life ....  man I miss my baby.

sew I got the pattern out Thanks to Erin and quilting gallery's Christmas quilt along.  Erin submitted this adorable Christmas Angel quilt block for their 2011 Christmas Quilt along.  When I saw her I knew I needed to make her into a table top runner for my kitchen table.  I have angel place mats I use during Dec. and she'd be just the added thing.  Sew I'm making two and going to stick them together head to head for the center of my table.  Any way I had only a little over 2 hrs to work before hubby got home from work I had to work hard and furiously.

work hard I did I thought I got alot accomplished.....

she's taking shape quite well. Sew that was what I accomplished during November's FNSI.

Oh yes, did I mention that this is also standing in my Kitchen....

I picked this cute little tree up at the second hand on Thursday evening.  It is 4 ft. We have decided to down size from big 7 ft this year.  Sew now I have to put it in its place.  hehehehe I usually put up tree after Thanksgiving, unless my my mom comes then we put up the tree and have Christmas while she is here, but she isn't coming this year.  In fact, dd took Amtrak to Grandma's for Thanksgiving, it was closer than coming home (1 day train ride to 3 days).

What did you get accomplished??
