Ready for a awesome movie! Bring your family to see this inspiring movie in theaters starting 8/25!  This is very clean, family oriented movie. No foul language.  There are a few smoking scenes. I was a little upset that they had to have them smoking in the church building during church service while the pastor was preaching. 

The theme throughout the movie Never give up on hope!  

This is a very inspirational and encouraging movie. I was so encouraged by this movie. It is so hard to find a good movie that isn't corrupted by the world's views and what they want to push on everyone as being Biblical and right way of life.  

 

 Synopsis: Growing up impoverished in small-town Texas, young Rickey Hill shows an extraordinary ability for hitting a baseball, despite being burdened by leg braces from a degenerative spinal disease. His stern, pastor father (DENNIS QUAID) discourages Rickey from playing baseball to protect him from injury, and to have him follow in his footsteps and become a preacher. Since Susan Berry was a young girl, she loved to write. Her imagination was filled with stories that she couldn’t write down fast enough. But it wasn’t until her grandmother had given her a Harlequin romance novel to occupy her time on a long, boring car ride, that she fell in love with reading romance. I was so excited to get Promise of the Heart by Susan Berry.  I had never read any of her books: Dance of the Heart and The Reluctant Heart in her Moments of the Heart series.  However, I didn't feel like I'd missed out on anything when I realized it was as book 3. I wasn't disappointed.  It was a book that was hard to put down. I just wanted to keep reading. A clean romance which makes it an excellent read for me.  As always there was the good guy and the bad guy.  I loved the twist and turns that where in the book. Seeing where it would lead Maggie. Two thumbs up  👍👍 I'd give it more but only have two thumbs.  😍 Loved it.  If you want a easy but page turning book then try Promise of the Heart.

I was able to review a pdf copy of Grandma's Tales Book 1: Wild Creatures in My Neighborhood and What if I Went to the Circus.  This book would be a very good read for early readers.  The story was fun and I was able to make connections with Wild Creatures in My Neighborhood as here just the other day we were driving past a golf course in town and there in the middle of the course stood three deer eating grass as if they belonged there.  I live in a fair size town 50,000 +.  We have a river that runs through our town and on the other side of the dyck where the golf course is the river.  Also I've woken on a summer night to skunk smell outside my bedroom window.  We have had raccoon in our yard as well.  My husband has also spotted an owl in the tree outside our house too.  The story What if I Went to the Circus is a cute tale on animals Jackson brought home from the circus, but in the end he decides that maybe his sister would be a better playmate choice.  Both these books were so adorable.  I can't wait to share them with my own Grandson soon.

About the Author      

Cheryl Carpinello taught high school English for 25 years. During that time, she worked with
numerous students who didn’t like to read for a variety of reasons. However, she discovered that
even the most reluctant readers became engaged in the classroom and in reading when she
introduced units on King Arthur and the works of ancient world writers. Upon retiring, she set

When We Last Spoke movie with giveaway

  

When We Last Spoke is a movie based on a book by Marci Henna.  It is is a heartwarming story of faith, family, and forgiveness.  It recently won award(s) at the Crown Awards at the National Religious Broadcasters 2021 Christian Media Convention for: best picture, best narrative, and best supporting actor just to name a few. Some of the cast include:  Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie), Cloris Leachman, and Corbin Bernsen.  

I so totally enjoyed this movie.  Juliette and  Evangeline will keep you laughing and bring you to tears.  There are ups and downs in every family and these two sisters are no different.  They quickly find themselves having to adjust to family life with grandparents and their father is deployed to Vietnam and their mother farms them off to grandparents.  Together they learn to overcome uncertainty and heartbreak.    

It is an excellent movie for the whole family to watch.  It has humor, battles won (triumphs) and upsets (heartbreaks). This is a movie that you'll want to watch over and over again.

The film stars TC Stallings (WAR ROOM, A QUESTION OF FAITH), Joey Lawrence (Melissa & Joey, Blossom, Ha-waii Five-0), Robert Ri’chard (COACH CARTER, Empire), and Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show).

This movie was very moving.  Travis is suffering from PTSD.  Heads back home to accompany a friend's body and finds an other friend involved in illegal things.  This movie is rated PG-13 and I would say if younger children do watch this there may be a few scenes that Travis has a gun held to his head.  The scenes are @ 1) 29:00-29:30,  2) 1:10:25-1:10:40, 3) 1:12:00-1:12:11.  All and all this is an excellent movie.

My Review:  What a fun way to teach how to tie a bow.  One skill that is missing in this day and age is teaching your child how to tie.  As a teacher, I speak from experience.  I remember this use to be a required skill to even get to go to kindergarten back in my childhood days.  Who would of thought of a rabbit and fox friendship to teach this skill.  The illustrations are bright and colorful as well.  Little girls would love the pink, butterflies, and bows what a combination. Little boys my fill little out with the first half of the book.  Maybe future book would be geared toward a boy camping theme, etc.  However, Cloe Can Tie a Bow is a very needed book and very well written.

 This book caught my attention cause Spaghetti is one of my favorite foods.  As a mom, it is usually my emergency go to meal.  It is a quick and easy meal to make.  As a teacher, I loved the thinking question that were asked throughout the story...What do you think will happen next...Keeping your child engaged in the story.  The illustrations are very colorful as well.  A very delightful book. 

 

                   Meet The Author

Back in the Stone Age, well maybe not that far back…

When Linda Karimo was very young, she learned to read at the knee of her Irish immigrant grandmother. Nannie, as she was known to the family, was just learning English herself.

They read all the classic children’s stories together. There was one in particular that became the inspiration for Linda’s current series of children’s books.

Moving forward, Linda was always a ravenous reader. She would often read all the books by a given author and then go onto yet another great fiction author. Espionage, legal, medical, suspense, and some “who done it” were her game.

Her day job as a Copywriter paid the bills while she dreamed of writing an extraordinary series of children’s books.

So, what childhood story prompted Linda to write a series about those characters?

It was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Linda’s nickname was always Goldilocks.

She transports her readers into the world of bears whose lives are not much different than humans, just bear style.

She has a conversational style of writing and wants her readers to feel a part of the action taking place, not just looking through the window watching it all going by.

There are also 3 family Bible studies provided for you to use with your family to help you to come to your decision on how to celebrate Christmas as a family.  In the book there are also ideas for new family time traditions that you can use to replace your old traditions.

Scott Rankin graduated with a degree in music education and spent his 20’s and 30’s as a successful music director, visual designer for marching groups, and a professional clinician for high school and college music programs.
In 2009 he was injured in a bicycle accident where he was instantly paralyzed. Today as a healing quadriplegic, Scott’s passion for teaching has been re-focused from music to writing Christian books and public speaking.
